Michel Vandenbroeck, docteur en sciences de l’éducation, est chercheur au Département du Travail Social l’université de Gand (Belgique) où il enseigne également l’éducation de la petite enfance, l’éducation familiale et la professionnalisation du travail social. Il est président du Centre de recherche et de ressources des milieux d’accueil, VBJK, en Flandres et cofondateur et membre du réseau d’experts européen DECET (Diversity in Early Childhood Education and Training). Ses principaux intérêts concernent la diversité et l’inclusion sociale dans l’éducation de la petite enfance, les programmes de soutien à la parentalité et les politiques de la famille. Il est membre du comité éditorial de la revue European Early Childhood Education Research Journal et a édité le numéro consacré à « “Children’s and Parents" Perspectives on Diversity ». Avec Ileana Seda-Santana (Université de Mexico), il co-préside un groupe international sur l’éducation de la petite enfance dans les zones de ségrégation ethnique au sein de la Joint Learning Initiative on Children and Ethnic Diversity.
